With a foundation rooted in education, my professional journey encompasses diverse roles, including elementary school teaching, employee training within a prominent Canadian company, and instructing English as a second language. Additionally, I have served as a yoga instructor, and presently, I share Insight Art practices with individuals spanning various age groups and backgrounds.
I hold certification from the Canadian International Institute of Art Therapy (CiiAT) as a Therapeutic Arts Practitioner. It is imperative to note that my role is distinctly educational; I am neither a therapist nor a counselor, but rather, an educator. Recognizing the potential of specific art practices to benefit individuals across the spectrum, I observed that these practices were often confined to the realm of therapy, limiting accessibility to counseling professionals and their clients.
Motivated by a commitment to preventive well-being in all aspects of life, I sought to extend these transformative activities to those seeking to maintain a healthy mind, irrespective of their therapeutic needs. This realization prompted a deliberate shift away from the therapy model and towards an educational framework, forming the core philosophy of Insight Art and this website.
